About us

Social Studies is a creative studio led by Julia Moshy, a creative director and experience architect shaping hospitality concepts and guest experiences from the ground up.

We oversee the full creative vision for hotels, restaurants, and member clubs—guiding brand identity, spatial flow, sensorial details, service touchpoints, and community curation to create spaces that feel cohesive, intentional, and culturally resonant. With a sociological approach to design, we study how people move, feel, and connect within a space. This insight shapes every aspect of the guest journey—from the moment they enter to the memories they take with them.

We build environments with soul—venues rooted in storytelling, shaped by history, and crafted with emotion. Intimate, character-rich, designed with care, and built to be remembered.

About the Founder

As Creative Director, Julia Moshy brings a producer's perspective to hospitality development. Born and raised in New York City, Julia possesses an innate understanding of the city's cultural landscape and social dynamics.

This unique perspective informs each project—from building comprehensive brand visions and narratives to crafting distinctive atmospheres, curating communities, and anticipating market evolution.

Julia's approach is exemplified in the development of Casa Cipriani, where in 2020 she was instrumental in shaping pre-opening business development, partnerships, and cultural & community curation. Julia helped establish what quickly became one of New York's most coveted destinations. Her continued role as Cultural Director for a year post-opening ensured the concept's successful evolution and cultural foothold.

With experience across diverse markets and a carefully cultivated network spanning hospitality, entertainment, and lifestyle brands, Julia connects concepts with the right collaborators, partners, and audiences. This holistic approach ensures each project develops its own cultural gravity while maintaining lasting relevance in a constantly evolving marketplace.
